On Sept. 16 the Marden Branch of Wellington County Library hosted a Tribute tea in honour of four local branches of the Women’s Institute.
Members from the Alma, Carry-on, Coningsby and West End branches were all present. The event was held to recognize the valuable contributions the Women’s Institute has made to the local community.
The West End Branch was also congratulated on celebrating its 100 year anniversary in 2015. Displays of original artifacts, including editions of local Tweedsmuirs, were featured at the event courtesy of the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
Guest speakers, musical entertainment, refreshments and cake were enjoyed by all during the afternoon. Members from each branch were presented with a keepsake Wellington County book to remember the day.
